Thinking of New Gun in 2014
Have an urge to get a more full sized firearrn with a DA/SA.
Top of that list is FNX-40 & CZ P07
In striker fired i like the Steyr M-A1 (.40S&W)
But now i am thinking I'd like something more concealable
And there are three at the top of that list
M&P Shield (.40S&W)
Beretta PX4 Storm SC (.40S&W)
and the Remington R51 (Yes I know they only released it in 9mm)
At the moment I EDC a Ruger SR40C. I really like it & have no complaints other then I believe the saying ONE IS NONE, two is one. When the time is right and I have the right finances. I am really going to dig deep as to what i think i might really need, rather than want.

If you don't mind used guns (no longer in production) look for a S&W 4013 .40s&w, it is one of there 3rd Gen guns that would be both concealable and DA/SA. They made them in 9mm also the model 3913.

For the DA/SA I would carry my 3913, one of the best out of the box that I have ever fired. For something more concealable and comfortable, I carry my Shield. Either would be a good choice.

I've had an FNX9 for a few years; good gun but I've just never quite liked the grip shape or the balance on it as well as my Ruger SR's or my M&P40. The decocker on the FNX is very nice and it came with 3 magazines. I've looked at PX Storms in the past but just never really got excited about one. Have you looked at the Bersa Ultra Compact?

I have carried a lot of different pistols and revolvers. I have carried many different FS 1911's, a Browning High Power, a Beretta 92F, a colt Commander, a Walther PPK in 380, a lot of pocket pistols in .22 and .25 caliber, but my favorite all time compact carry pistol either my Shield 40 or My Shield 9. I never quite got used to my 5 shot revolvers. I now either carry my Shield 40 or my M&P 40 full size depending on my cover garment. I pretty much use a Comptac Ctac's for holsters for both guns when I carry IWB, although I sometimes carry my Shield in a Desantis Mini Scabbard for OWB. With that, I add the caveat that no 2 people are built the same and that no 2 people have a near natural point of aim with the same weapon. I would place my priorities as follow:
1. Something that is extremely reliable;
2. Something that I can shoot naturally and accurately in as high of a caliber as one personally can handle;
3. Something that fits in with my cover garments, i.e. high capacity generally means,
4 Something that is comfortable to carry all day. This one maybe should have more importance as I have found that people don't carry as much is they are not comfortable.
Hope this helps!
