Starting a 300BLK "Pistol" Build...

I'm steadily accumulating the parts I need for my new "pistol". I already own a "donor" upper that is currently a 5.56, but is getting a 8" 300BLK barrel, low-profile gas block and gas tube, new 9" free-float hand-guard with a top-rail, and a TBD linear comp. I'm building the lower myself with a raw pistol engraved lower, Sigtac Arm Brace, 9" pistol Buffer Tube w/ carbine buffer, and a TBD drop-in trigger. Likely running the same Ergo Tactical Extreme grip as on my 30-Gun rifle.

Completed, it will be a 24-26" total length PDW "pistol" capable of loading 46 rounds of 220Gn projectiles, exiting the muzzle at 1000fps. Or 125Gn Super-sonics at 150% of the energy of a 62Gr 5.56...

Build price? Under $900.

Build documentary and pics coming...

LOL... Just bought an 8" Pistol Upper on Gunbroker for $260... That sped things up.

Now I just need a better comp, since it just comes with a birdcage...

I'm guessing 8-10 days, depending on the trigger group!

Then of course there's the ammo... at $0.75-$1.50/squeeze...

But... You get this.

I built a 300 blackout rifle a couple of years ago, I run 125 gr TNT hollowpoints at an average velocity of 2300 fps using LilGun powder.

Yes, the 220Gn Subsonics are cool if you want to shoot really quiet "thuds" with a can. But as a defensive gun, the 110-125Gn loads ripping along at 2300-2500fps are the sh__...

I'm going to grab a few dozen Barnes Vor-Tx, some of the Nosler AccuBond loads, and/or the Sierra 125 HP Match.

I've really enjoyed those Sun Devil billet receivers. Mine have the Devil Coat NP3+ coating.

It's running!

Ammo ordered up. It should have it's own BCG and charging handle this week (this one is out of my 3-Gun rifle), and I just traded my extra barrel for Samsom BUIS. Working a deal now on a Troy V-Tac 9" Rail to replace the 7" on it now.

Only 5 rounds through the upper, but I'll have 100 rounds of 125Gn in a few days!
