Larger Carry Gun in the Winter

I can understand that you can conceal a larger gun under a jacket, but what do you do when you go inside a restaurant or a business and you need to remove your jacket?

I find that I am facing the same problem as I have in the summer, covering it with an untucked shirt or a fleece vest. So I end up carrying the same gun all year.

What do you do in order to cover a larger gun inside?

If possible keep jacket on and unbuttoned or not zipped. If not then IWB. I use a Crossbreed for that.

I carry my f/s 9mm and if I have to take my coat off I could care less if the gun is showing I don't cover it with a shirt people here don't care. Do people freak out or get nervous where your at if they see your gun? I see so many comments on here and other sites about this same thing i don't see what the big deal is all about if your gun shows or prints. Am I worried a bad guy will wrestle me to the ground and take my gun not at all. I aint trying to be an jerk to you or nothing. If you are carrying legally in a place that allows guns why worry about it.

I grew up in a very gun unfriendly state, I now live in a very gun friendly state. Shaking the mind set that I must be 100% concealed or I may be accused of brandishing or what not took awhile. Another thing to consider is that most people are totally oblivious to what goes around on them. Any real attempt at concealment will most likely be enough to go unnoticed.

I always carry concealed either a full size 9 or a compact 45. I carry iwb so I can cover either gun with just a t shirt.

I live in NC and open carry is legal, however it is so rare that you almost never see it. I don't worry about my shirt blowing open or printing, but otherwise I prefer to stay concealed. Just my preference.

+1 to Badwolf75's comments. If it prints a little I don't worry about it. Most people won't even notice. Those who do are probably gun friendly anyway.

Cheers,
Marc

Usually wear a hoodie, either under a jacket or on it's own. Not a fashion statement. Two extra pockets and an extra layer of concealment.

I'm in gun friendly PA.
Never see open carry in my area.
Carry my 9mm shield all year.
IWB under shirt in warm weather pocket or ankle holster in cool weather.

If I HAVE to wear a tucked in shirt, I have a 'Tuckable' Hybrid holster (CBST) and simply blouse the shirt (muffin top it) a bit, rather than trying for a 'clean' tuck.

Normally though... Untucked Polo or untucked flat seamed shirt (and leave the bottom buttons undone).

Well, 90% of the time I open carry, so I dont have to worry about anyone seeing my gun. Check your state's laws... VA is very gun friendly.
