Thumbs up TX Licensed OC = Done Deal

Governor Abbott tweeted a bit earlier:
"Open Carry just passed in both the Texas House & Senate... Next destination: My Pen."

Can I Get a 'YeeHaw'???

For those that haven't been following, this is NOT Constitutional Carry (OC for anyone/everyone). This allows people with CHL licenses to carry either concealed (as we have been for 20 years), Open Carry in either a Belt Holster, or Shoulder holster, or Partially Concealed.

We'll start working on Constitutional Carry next session... Bills have already been drafted.

Yea been keeping up with it. Now I have to look for an OWB high ride holster. Been doing IWB but now that it will be no big deal to "print' or show the gun when reaching for something I figure I can do an OWB high ride to conceal. Not planning on OC just not too worried if someone sees the muzzle or holster.

Any recommendation on a high ride retention holster?

Gov Signed Them Today!!

It's official...
Governor Abbott signed both HB910 (Licensed Open Carry)and SB 11 (Concealed Campus Carry) into Law today.

Open carry is set to take effect Jan. 1, 2016 and campus carry is set to go into effect August 1, 2016.

Quote:
"Today I am proud to expand liberty in the Lone Star State," said Abbott. "By signing these bills into law, Texans can be assured that their Second Amendment rights will be stronger and more secure than ever before."

MAN I LOVE MY STATE!!!

I feel so spoiled with Texas lately. I'm a Texas lifer. Fell in love with Abbot, he became gov. Now we get open carry?! Damn with this and a few other unrelating issues, our state is doing very well.

Now to get my tickets paid so I can get my CC/OC right on time for my birthday, four days after this passes. I'll probably mostly be CC though. But I'm a skinny guy and I like to take out the big girl every once in a while. Now she'll be sitting on my hip instead of in the truck.

Constitution Carry here we come!
