That's very odd, but at least my state is still honored.

Mine as well. Wonder what the criteria was for the decision to drop so many?

The criteria you ask... A liberal Attorney General tied to the Bloomberg, McAuliffe, Clinton machine who wants to just 'do something' when it comes to gun laws!!!

I applaud Attorney General Mark Herring. He had to stop the huge influx of law abiding non resident CCW holders from coming into Virginia and commuting those terrible crimes!!! Come on people! -sarcasm added.

This does hurt any law-abiding citizen, from those states that were dropped, who may want to travel to Virginia, but on balance it hurts every permit-holding Virginian even more, since they will soon find that there are a lot fewer states where they can carry. Why? Because many of the dropped states will drop Virginia in return due to the way they honor reciprocity.

It kinda sucks for me, but it really sucks to be a traveling Virginian with gun.

The move means that Virginians will no longer be able to use their concealed handgun permits in six states that require a mutual reciprocity agreement: Florida, Louisiana, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Wyoming.

I agree, Northern Virginia is bringing us down and left. As much as I love Virginia, I may have to move to another state if this liberal BS keeps up

Apparently, Virginia does not recognize Michigan's upper peninsula as part of Michigan.

I'm in SC. Not sure why we were dropped. SC requires classroom training, range testing, background check, fingerprinting.

There is question about being convicted of misdemeanor in the last 5 years, that could be part of it???? However, I went online to see what is involved to get an out of state license and it is almost a joke compared to NC. You can watch a 40 minute video and take an 11 question test and that will qualify you. Since you can watch and take the test free, I did it and got a perfect score. If you want the certificate it is $79.

We need to get the laws in Virginia changed and bring back runoff elections.

McAuliffe only received 47.75 of the vote. In other words less than the majority of Virginians voted for him.

It is no secret that in the last weeks of the race, an Obama superPAC threw money at the Sarvis campaign to keep him in the running and insure a split in the conservative vote.

Had Sarvis done the right thing and dropped out of a race he had no chance of winning, enough of the votes he siphoned would have gone to Cuccinelli who would have defeated McAuliffe.

On the other hand, if Virginia still held runoff elections insuring the people's will be done, this nonsense with reciprocity would have never happened.

Yes Northern Va and Norfolk are Democratic strongholds, but the fact is the majority of Virginians are conservative they just have to get to the polls and vote. They also need to stop falling for these third party idiots who do nothing but cost elections. It would not surprise me if it eventually came out that Sarvis was working for the McAuliffe camp the whole time.

Jaysq, could you provide a link please in reference to your post about an online video and $79.00 fee. I went to VSP website and all I saw was similiar hoops I had to jump through to get my NC CCW permit.
