USPSA Holster height requirement

I'm trying to get the correct USPSA Holster height requirement for production class as lower is faster and easier for me to draw.

The USPSA rule "The drop offset type holster is allowed in
production Division as long as the heel of
the butt of the gun is above the belt"

Do they mean the entire "heel" or just the top of the heal? The drawing they show on page 93 of the hand gun rules looks like only the top of the heal must be higher than the top of the belt.

I guess what I'm asking is what exactly is the "heal of the butt of a hand gun"? Is it the entire mag well area or is it just the tip of the mag well area nearest the back strap?

This. Just get part of the grip above the upper edge of the belt, and you'll be fine.

Pretty much as long as you pick up a holster from a major manufacturer (comp-tac, blade tech, DAA, Ready Tactical, etc) who makes gear for gaming, it'll be compliant.

The blade-tech DOH was pretty much universal until a few years ago.

Personally I run a higher (non-dropped) holster in Production, but only because I don't want to have different drawstrokes for IDPA, USPSA, and anything else. I don't want to move my holster back and forth, and IDPA requires a carry-feasible design.
