Yeah guys,i wasnt expecting it to have 154cm or S30v.

It would needed one or the other to even get my consideration is why i asked.Didnt really notice the price point...although i have seen some 154cm blades well under $100 before.

My Griptilian(my "tool knife") and Rift(EDC) pretty much handle my folder needs anyway.

After carrying the M&P knife around for about 2 weeks I noticed the black paint (that's right paint) on the blade chipping off, the pocket clip easily bent back so it no longer grips my pocket, and the plain portion of the edge loosing it's edge faster than a Stanley utility blade ... I "retired" it and bought a couple real knives ... a Spyderco Pacific Salt for trips to the beach and outdoor activities, and a benchmade 930 for more civilized wear. Both were picked up on ebay for a fraction of their list prices. They both will open just as/or about as fast as the MAGIC mechanism either using the thumb stud/hole - or even faster by popping them.

Smith and Wesson has been coming out with the fastest assisted openers we have seen. They have also been coming out with great designs. This Military/Police series is exceptional. The styling is modern and utilitarian.

Here is the specs for one of these great models:

When you first open up this knife, the first words out of your mouth are going to be Its M.A.G.I.C.. And that is what this truly is!

M.A.G.I.C. stands for Multipurpose, Assisted, Generational, Innovative Cutlery. M.A.G.I.C. refers to the dual patented, revolutionary assisted opening mechanism that is an integral part of this series of knives. You will find that the M.A.G.I.C. assisted opening mechanism is the easiest, single handed opening system you have ever used. Once you have used it, you will know that its M.A.G.I.C.

Specifications

Handle: T6061 Aircraft Aluminum

Blade: 2.9″ (7.4 cm), Drop Point

Closed: 4.2″ (10.7 cm)

Steel: Stainless

Weight: 4.1 oz.

Made in Taiwan

Smith & Wesson Knife Review

There are 2 things I like about S&W knifes, their looks and low price. However their steel quality is questionable.

I have gone through two of the M&P SWMP4LS knives with the M.A.G.I.C. assist opening (3.6 inch blade). They really are MAGIC- after about 30-40 openings, they magically break and won't open! I won't buy another one. My S&W Extereme Ops at $8.00 from Academy has lasted 4 years without a hitch and stays razor sharp.

Aside from the blade, the body of the knife looks like alot of the box cutters I see out there.
