I was perusing my new Quartermaster Uniforms catalog and noticed that S&W is marketing two new LED tactical lights under the M&P banner. They use Cree LED's and are rated at 100 lumens and 200 lumens respectively. They are reasonably priced at $49 for the 100

model and $79 for the 200 lumen model. They can be viewed at www.qmuniforms.com.

They don't seem like anything special. Prices seem abut $10-15 too high for what they appear to be.

Yeah, I don't know. I carry Surefire and Streamlight, but I thought it interesting that S&W was branching out the M&P logo to products besides firearms.

I've searched the site twice & have not found that flashlight yet! How about a link to the flashlight?

Too much money for an untested light. I would go with the tried and true lights.

Besides, I'm sure this is simply another company's light tagged w/Smith and Wesson... isn't that what they do with their blades? Every one I've handled gave me horrible feelings of Gerber...

I lost my surefire e1e a few months back and finally got some cash together for a replacement. I went down to the local fun store to buy another small surefire or something similar and ran across the small 1 c123 cell M&P. It was $38.00. I messed around with it, its an interesting light, and much cheaper then the $110 that surefire wants for an e1e. Plus this M&P light is LED. I was told it is rated at 85 lumens, but I find it brighter then most 90 lumen surefires. The one grip I have is the tail button is not easily turned on, so trying to wedge it inbetween your fingers of you support hand and activate it it doesn't work well. It is definetly worth the $38 I paid for it.

I am trying to figure out where these are to expensive. Especially if you compare it to Surefire lights. Now, from what I can tell they are competitively priced to Fenix lights. Except that you get a better price with the Fenix lights.

Just by fluke I came across a Garrison light at the local Canadian Tire Store. Made in China, looks like a Surefire knock-off and rated at 110 lumins. $19.95 Cdn. I am not a LEO and use the light once or twice a year for low light stages in IDPA. I really wanted a Surefire but heck I can buy 15 of these things for the price of a Surefire. My life is never going to depend on a flashlight where I live. I don't know why some of these lights like Surefire sell at the prices they do but I guess what ever the market will bear.

Take Care
