handgun mounted light

This is a discussion on handgun mounted light within the Knife and Light forums, part of the Armory category; Probably a dumb question but can the streamlight tlr 1 be used as a hand held light as well as gun mounted? Take Care Bob...

You could use the TLR-1 as a handheld light but it'd probably be awkward. Just get a weapon light and a carry light. I've been eyeballing the 4sevens Preon 2 as a back up for when my TLR-3 comes for my 9c. Happy Shooting! -Dirvo-

Look at the Safariland RLS......securely mounts on / off with 90 degree rotation onto the rail, has a belt clip, end cap button activation, 60+ hours of LED run time on common AAA batteries.

Keep it in your car, on your person or on your gun.

I use a variety of the SureFires but they will cost you 3 X as much as the RLS.
