This is a discussion on agencies that issue M&P within the Law Enforcement forums, part of the Armory category; Might be some good deals if you can follow those G31 trade-ins....

This got me thinking (not to hijack, just an observation) of that schmuck with the Glock in the water-filled trash-bin. "Lets see you do that with an M&P". Hmph....Seems the cops in a lot of places aren't concerned.

To keep OT, The Orrville, Ohio PD is carrying M&P's now. I will admit it looks good on a bat-belt.

The Chicago PD (2nd largest police dept. in the U.S.A.) has just allowed it as one of the options for a duty sidearm. You probably won't be seeing it in their duty holsters in large numbers until October 2007 though...

Wilmington, Ohio PD issues the M&P40. Cincinnati did a lot of T&E for the M&P series and I believe that they were the first large agency to test and issue the M&P. Of course, Columbus, Ohio was already mentioned.

Rocky Mount, NC PD.

Durham NC PD is testing the M&P .45.

I wish the M&P .357 was available when we switched to the SIG.

nothing.

the last sidearm to be issued was the S&W 5946, but that was probably ten or more years ago.

since then, they've had a "personally-owned, department-approved" carry policy.

From what one of the probation/parole officers said they are now useing the M&P in 40, this is a big change from the revolvers they had a few years ago!!!

i also heard that Charlotte Meck was getting them too, the officer i was shooting next to the other day was super happy to be getting the M&P since he hated the SW99 that he was issued a few years ago.
