Was talking to the boss today and he is getting quotes from a few LEO suppliers to switch to the M&P40. Our current issue is the Sig P226R .40 with nite sights. We had a few incidents involving these weapons and when I was asked about a new sidearm I suggested the M&P. I personally own the M&P9 FS and it's been flawless for two years and several thousand rounds I've put through it. Looks like we will be switching to the M&P40 FS with nite sights soon. Not interested in discussing our issues with the sigs just celebrating the move to the M&P.

R. Toker, I think your agency will be very happy with the M&P. Does your agency allow mods to the gun (like Apex Tactical's RAM, for instance)?

I have heard about this, not my Department, but a municipal department in our County switched from Sig P226's to the M&P 40 and scores jumped!

My Department issued sidearm: (Patrol) HK USP .45 Full size

(DB, Traffic) HK USP .45 Compact

It's official. We will be making the switch to the M&P40 FS with Nite Sights. To celebrate I'm ordering an M&P45 midsize with mag safety and nite sights from OMB Express for use when I work the Narcotics Squad. They really have some nice prices on M&Ps for first responders!! $455 with nite sights and 3 mags ain't too shabby for that model. I'll keep you all informed how the transition goes. Stay Safe!!!!

WsP moved to the MP40. They are great guns. I think the improvement in scores come from the guns fitting the hand better, and the basicly single action trigger. No more DA/SA brain farts

Contact S&W LE Sale directly. They may be able to get your agency a great deal.

You may also get a nice trade-in deal on the currently issued Sigs.

Arrange for free onsite M&P Armorer training at the PD, too.

How do you like your USP .45? Never shot one, but my H&K's are great guns (P7, USP Expert).

Our LEO's here switched to the FS 40"s a couple years ago. I shoot with a few of them from time to time and they all love them.

We switched to the full size 40 and Streamlight TLR-1 for all uniformed personal in 09. Admin and detectives carry the M&P 40C. The majority of the Dept loves the guns and we have few issues.

My Dept switched to the M&P40 2 years ago from the S&W 4046 and everyone loves them, I also switched to the M&P9c as my off duty, very reliable guns.
