This is pure speculation on my part as I don't work for Buds. My guess is that they/distributors just can't keep up with the demand. When I was buying my 9FS the day after Thanksgiving NICS crashed not once but twice. The first time was earlier in the day at Cabelas and the second was at our LGS. Now take in to account that we have another AWB on the horizon and people are in panic buying mode. We saw this back in 08-09. Things got normal for a while and now they're chaotic again. Everyone's priority is to get as many magazines, boxes of ammo, and handguns as they can. If it holds more than 10 rounds they want it. That's pretty much all M&P's except for the Shield and the 45's.

I would like to tell you that Buds wouldn't do that but, again, can not confirm that. Happy Shooting! -Dirvo-

I also think its a supply vs. demand issue and in time, will sort itself out.

i saw they had some in stock a few weeks ago and sold out quickly. They usually do sell out before you receive the updates so check the site often. I purchased a leo shield a few months back from a local store for 349.

Heres my story with them post Sandy Hook..and no they are sold out of most LE handguns

I am in the processing of buying my first non department issued handgun, I was recommended by a colleague of mine to check out BudsGunShop. So I knew what I wanted to order(Smith and Wesson M&P 9mm). Went on Buds and found the gun in stock, great. I ordered it on the 29 December. They sent me an email saying it would ship in 3-7 business days, again fine by me. I called them on Monday, damn near took 2 hours to get an actual human, and I was told it would ship the latest Thursday. Two weeks today, its still processing. I read several posts on Buds's FB page, I apparently am not the only one having a bad experience. One gentleman even placed an order on the 15th and its still "processing".

I ordered an M&P 9 from Buds Police Supply back in July. It said "processing" for about a week. A week after that, it said "Order Exception." I called them to see what that meant. Apparently there was a hold on my order for some unknown reason. They shipped the gun to my FFL that day. They were good to work with, but they needed a little push. But that was last summer. Who knows what the deal is now with the frenzy buying.

I've been on Bud's Police Supply's "Email me when it's in stock" list for the Shield 9 for 3-4 months now. Haven't heard a word.

Just a week ago I picked up one used, so I'm not interested in buying from Bud's now but for kicks I'm not going to try to delete the notification feature. I'm willing to bet that I won't get that Email for at least a year.

Near as I can tell they aren't even bothering to update the website right now. The cynic in me figures that all the stock they get is devoted to selling for full price in store or on the regular site. I might try calling their brick and motor store every so often just to check.

In the meantime, does anyone know of other online retailers that offer law enforcement pricing?

You might try calling Streichers. They show M&P's in their catalog, but not on their website.

Atlantic Tactical is a better option, I've had nothing but horrible experiences with Buds

I contacted Atlantic Tactical, as you can place an order on their site but if it's out of stock they'll just bill your credit card for full price and put you on the wait list. According to Stephanie in customer service, S&W has told them September for the Shield 9mm.

Anyone know of other online sites with LE only pricing, besides Bud's PS and Atlantic?

I personally refuse to work with Buds. They are nothing short of rude when it comes to selling to California citizens. I have good experiences with Grabagun.com, usually very low pricing, along with excellent customer service.

I am also very happy with Grabagun.com. I had trouble with using the website for payment and I got a real person who went out of their way to make sure everything worked for me. I sure will be buying from them again.
