Are you asking about the full kit? Belts, holsters, cuffs, batons, radio, etc... or just duty weapons? MOST agencies issue the weapons, and don't allow any modifications (liability). Really, only VERY small-town Sheriffs allow carry of personally owned firearms any more. Modifying duty weapons is HIGHLY frowned upon.

I am also on the detention side of things. I carry my M&P 9 in a Safariland 6320. I like the smooth draw and the fact that it secures itself when re-holstered. I also use a safari land mag pouch and it seems to hold up pretty well.

Our agency doesn't issue firearms, and it is pretty big. LOL. That's only for detention though, the deputies are issued weapons. We're not allowed to carry a backup and The only mods that are allowed are sights and grips.
