Agencies that allow Apex triggers.

Does anybody know of any Law Enforcement agencies that allow Apex upgrades, specifically just the installation of an AEK trigger on personally owned or Dept issued M&P duty pistols? I'm attempting to gather some info for my Dept here in California.

I think Pasadena PD allows them.

If the gun is department owned you can't change anything.

The trigger itself isn't the "end all" of dramatic improvements to the trigger pull and reset.

That is done by upgrading the sear, striker block, and, for a really light pull (competition) lighter trigger and sear springs.

My two carry M&Ps have Apex sears and striker blocks installed, while retaining all stock springs and the trigger assemblies.

Both look completely stock, but have <four pound trigger pulls, and a nice reset.

Could be, but I'd bet most all departments work this way.

I just found this thread.
Are you still looking for information? There are department very close to me that allow almost all of the APEX trigger except for the FSS. The department even purchased RAMs for the officers duty MP.

Not mine. All internals must be factory per policy. Only sights and grips may be changed. Though my LE Model .40 trigger is just fine. I've had it less then a year and believe it has the improved factory trigger and reset.

Id venture to say, correct.. the majority, number unknown, would surly not allow any mods.

A 5 man department from Bodunk MS might not give a rats tail, but Id guess that would be the exception rather than the rule..

Just saying because one department prohibits a mod doesnt mean it is universal.
