LEOSA Re-Cert...Great Day Had By All!

Last Tuesday I had my annual LEOSA Re-Cert. It was a great sunny day thankfully...days before it were rain, days after it were rain! We had a small group of about ten RLEO's. Some shooting Glocks, 1911's, Sig's, Shields. Most were shooting 9, 40, 45, and one guy was shooting a .32 semi-auto of some make.

A retired trooper had a Shield 9 and had never shot it before and was really struggling with it. But in all fairness to the Shield, he's been there before and struggled with his shooting then too. I don't know if he was able to successfully complete the course or not.

The only malfunctioning pistol was a Sig 1911. He said he has had the Sig for quite some time and always has trouble with it. He said he had just bought new Sig brand mags and it still malfunctioned with every mag. He was a bit discouraged with it to say the least! He did clear the malfunctions and still was able to get the required shots in before the buzzer.

My re-cert run was successful one, I shot a 94%. Granted the states course of fire isn't very difficult but it does include strong hand and weak hand only unsupported shooting.

All in all...IT WAS A GREAT DAY AT THE RANGE!

It sounds like a fun time. Heck, shooting almost always is if you aren't the person with the malfunctioning gun and the sun is shining.

I just realized something. If you're east of the cascades and it was raining... That's fairly rare isn't it? Don't the Cascades wring the water out of the air before it gets to you? Anyway, that just hit me after I posted and I had to ask.

Spring and Fall we get rain and this spring we've been exceptionally wet with some areas of Eastern Washington having flooding issues, we had a lot of snow this winter too. But here in a month or so we'll be burning up, I've unfortunately had a front row seat to several wildfires across the Columbia River from us, one a year or so ago burned 29 homes! All of the web-footed liberals from the west side of the mountains will soon be invading us to come over to dry out!

Oh and by the way...KUDO'S for knowing Washington State isn't just Seattle...the majority of the state doesn't claim Seattle!

Thanks! I did not know that about your climate. Sounds like Maine (politically)... we don't claim from Augusta south and would like to secede from the southern progressives. Lots of states are like that. I have a friend in CA and he makes it a point to be sure to let folks know he's not from SF or LA. Same as I make sure to let folks know that I'm from central Maine. The problem with Maine is that some of the left also claims to be from central Maine. They don't want to be associated with themselves it seems. Maybe I should claim to be from northern central Maine. :-)
