Twist rate of M&P 9mm?

Hello,

I'm starting to digest information on reloading and wondered what the twist rate on the 9mm M&P (w/4" barrel) is.

I tried to use the trick where you see how much your cleaning rod rotates in the barrel. It appears to be about 1/8 of a turn over the 3.5" of rifled barrel length which would give a twist rate of 1:28. Does that seem right to any of you re-loaders out there?

I'm interested in matching up the bullet weight with the twist to get the best accuracy, but I can't find any info on the lengths of different manufacturers' bullets to be able to plug it into the formula.

Has anyone already done this work and/or have any recommendations for me?

Thank you!

heh!

LOL, yep.

It's the same problem for bullets. There's no length listed for bullets on their manufacturers web sites. It sure makes choosing supplies more difficult.

The Hornady XTP 147gr. has been the most accurate out of mine.
