Cartridge casing blew out at the extractor rim, no bullet lodged in barrel, no bulged barrel etc, S&W examined the pistol and declared the KB was due to an overcharged round. The ammo was a "factory remanufactured", the ammo maker has accepted responsibility and is buying them a new pistol.
Yikes. Yeah I was wary of it as well but it's loaded by a local company and a friend of mine has run about 5,000 rounds without an ammo issue. Still would prefer new though

I gathered the Perfecta ammo was new manufacture and not reloads, at least the OP did not mention reloaded.
Perfecta is factory ammo although it's made in Italy. I think G56 was addressing running reloads specifically not the Perfecta.

Exactly, Perfecta is new manufactured ammo, none of my comments concern Perfecta.

My post was in relation to a poster that said he was using "factory reloads", a lot of those are pretty dicey, if the reloading machine operators aren't properly trained you get things like double charges, and a lot of those companies limit their training to keep this bin and that bin filled up.

Update as requested and promised.

Between one of my shooting buddies, (who brought some Perfecta ammo with him), and I we shot close to 200 rounds through two different guns. One being a Shield 9mm, and the other my FS Pro Series 9mm.

As reported by CT9A it shot fine, with no FTF's, FTE's, or any other issues.

The Perfecta didn't feel underpowered to either of us, but I shot up the rest of a box of Tula prior to shooting it, so nothing would have felt softer than that I guess.

Since the price was right, ($14 for a box of 50), I'll be happy to kill some more paper with it!

Thumbs up

I buy Perfecta ammo at WalMart in Brewer, Maine. The price for 9mm is $9.78 a box of 50. I have fired 400 rounds thru my Taurus PT92 9mm SS and only had 1 misfire. This ammo is fairly clean and shoots very well. WalMart runs out a lot, so I buy a few boxes at a time when in stock. I just bought a new EAA Witness and am going to the range today to shot with Perfecta. This is very good range ammo.

I bought a bunch of Perfecta 9mm a while back. It runs fine in the gun, but the problem I have is with the reloading of it. The brass appears to thicken up closer to the case mouth. It won't bother most folks, but it does me since I reload 160 grain bullets and the length of the bullet and the case thickening conspire to make some rounds not fully chamber in the chamber gauge.

BTW, lots of dusty threads being pulled up.

I just tried the Perfecta 9mm today bought it at Walmart for $9.78 short 100 rounds of 115gr and 100 round of Remington UMC 124gr which I got at Dunham sporting good store for $11.99 on sale. Both work great no issues with either one.
