Perfecta Ammo

I was at Wal-Mart on Friday and picked up 400 rounds of Perfecta 9mm ammo since the price was right, $14 for a box of 50.

Came home and did a little research and found out that it's made in Italy by the same folks that make Tula.

Anyone tried any of this? I haven't shot any yet, so I'm just curious.

The reviews I read said it wasn't as dirty as Tula and cycled just fine.

That's a decent price, if the ammo is any good. Be sure and let us know your opinion once you get a chance to light off a few boxes.

Another thread on another forum listed $17 for 40. Looks decent, too, brass casings. I hear it's made by Fiocchi and distributed by Tula.

I'd be interested to try it opposed to the factory reloads I've been running.

I've shot it in my Sig 2022 and my Tristar. Excellent results. Highly recommend it. Only the 9mm so far.

Will do! Looks like range day will be Thursday this week. I'll carry a box or two and let y'all know.

They didn't have it in .40 at the Walmart I went to, so I don't know the price for sure, but the quote of $17 sounds realistic to me. I'll check next trip and post if I find out.

I saw that info about Fiocchi making it also in one of the searches I did. I don't know yet if it's true or not. Nothing on the box to indicate either way.

You might want to ask them to check corporate policy Keeter. My understanding is the only restriction left is on .22. I did notice that of the three stores I go to most frequently some were quicker to comply than others.

Just recently saw a brand new Pro Series blown up by "factory" reloads, many of the so called "factory remanufactured" brands have little to no quality control. The one I saw didn't even make it to 50 rounds before an overcharge blew it to bits, more than likely a double charged round.

Was anyone injured by the kaboom? Any pictures of the damage? Would like to know the brand so I could avoid it.

I gathered the Perfecta ammo was new manufacture and not reloads, at least the OP did not mention reloaded.

More likely a squib than a double charge.

Didn't have a problem with 200 rounds fired. Shoots softer than WWB and Blazer Brass. More like Freedom Munitions.

The shot immediately before it was observed hitting paper and ejected normally. Cartridge casing blew out at the extractor rim, no bullet lodged in barrel, no bulged barrel etc, S&W examined the pistol and declared the KB was due to an overcharged round. The ammo was a "factory remanufactured", the ammo maker has accepted responsibility and is buying them a new pistol.
