It's allot easier for my defense team to explain to the jury that I used the same ammo that the local LEO's carry and that my choice was not unreasonable...
Prosecutors will call you a wannabe cop because you're using the same type/brand of ammo the LEO's use

If you use Tull ammo, prosecutors will claim that human life has no value to you because you used one of the cheapest ammo

Seriously, it doesn't matter what kind of ammo you use. Prosecutors will find a way to make you look bad, evil, cold blooded killer.

Golden Saber 165gr. Pretty inexpensive on Ammunition Depot right now and looks kind of neat through a few jugs of water.

Law enforcement ammo is designed to do some things like penetrate windshields and doors that ordinary home defense ammo isn't, so that is something to keep in mind.

I'm sold on Federal HST 124 gr. Good expansion (3/4" or .075 in a typical test) and velocity for a 9mm.

None of this is accurate, except the spelling, well... most of the spelling.

I settled on Federal HST 180gr. in .40, for my Shield. I bought enough to make sure it would cycle reliably, and it does.

If it's a good shoot, ammunition won't matter that much. You would be in the right.

Smokewagon make sure to run a couple of mags through your gun. Some guns like certain bullet profiles so you never know if X brands works 100% in my M&P it might not work 100% in yours.

Howdy

I find that HST is a great load in 9mm for an everyday carry.

Might as well carry .357 sig FMJ then if over-penetration and bullet expansion isn't an issue
