The 124gr. HSTs popped up at SGammo. I picked up some of that and sold the Gold Dots for a minimal loss.
I feel the time and $ was definitely worth the peace of mind.
Thanks all for your help.

The HST 124 to 147 work great. The Ranger T 147 goes deeper and does not get as big as a HST.Seeing i cant pick the size of a attacker i only use Ranger T 147.I know it will expand out of a short barrel and go deep into a very large attacker

F a bunch of that hollow point hairsplitting. Just shoot any 9mm round and keep shooting till they drop. I like 115 grain because it doesn't disturb my aim or delay my next shot. hollow point is optional.

Std pressure in a short barrel will not expand consistently and I recommend you watch shootingthebull410's excellent series (37 types of ammo) on youtube. I am carrying golddot +P 124gr right now simply because I have been fully unable to find the federal HST +P in either 124 or 147 anywhere (I search a couple of times a day and have been since I got my shield 2 weeks ago. I will only fire enough of +P to make sure it feeds properly. I have had had difficulties as well getting heavier fmj rounds for range work but that is not as big an issue. I was also able to get corbon PDX 115gr +P which did well in his tests too. Hope this helps.

In "Lucky Gunner's Labs" defensive ammo test, the 9mm 124 +P Gold Dot, and 124 Gold Dot Short Barrel ammo performed well out of short barreled 9mm's. I didn't see data for the 124 Gold Dot standard pressure. Great site, y'all check it out. Make sure to scroll to the bottom to see expansion, photos, penetration charts, and velocities for .380, 9mm, .40, and 45 acp.
