Problem with my M&P 40c !!!
I got this gun for a song so I didn't mind using it as a learning experience. However, I still want it to shoot!
Didn't like the trigger. Went the Apex route. First the DCAEK...ok, then the RAM...ok, but still not Glock like. I can't help it. I was trying to make an apple to an orange. I thought that the Forward Set Sear and Trigger kit would be the answer. After many attempts to reassemble, I could not get the trigger to reset. Following Apex's recommendations, I closed the trigger bar loop to get the results I needed. The gun would reset on every dry fire, could feel the reset thru the trigger. ALRIGHT, to the range.
On live fire, the trigger would not reset. AGH!!!!!!!! More "tuning" of the loop, better dry fire reset, but no live fire reset! Call Apex and they said it was a sear problem and sent me another sear. Great customer service, I might add! Replace the sear and went to range. No luck, still no reset. Heck with the forward set sear kit, I'll go back to the DCAEK, at least it worked.
Now the rub! With all parts back to previous working state.......no trigger reset on live fire??????? Did I tell you how much more I like working on Glocks? Help from any M&P aficionado would be GREATLY appreciated!

Do you have the old small sear spring, sear block assy.? If so a new style sear block and larger spring might be your answer.
As you now know, if you screw around with something that works long enough it will quit working. But of course that is how we learn.
The best advise I can give you is: If you want a Glock like action and hardware then get a Glock.

You said you "closed" the loop. The Apex video for installing the Apex triggers says to open the loop, make the gap in the loop wider. I know you didn't mention a trigger but it sounds like the trigger bar tuning that follows that particular installation.

After installation of the FSS kit and reassembly of the pistol, you find that pulling the trigger fails to release the sear. You are then instructed to open the candy cane a few thousandths at a time until sear release happens. Use a feeler gage when doing this. If you open it too much, the sear will release when you pull the trigger but it cannot reset because the candy cane can't slip back under it.
You want to open the candy cane just enough so that the sear will release and also reset.
