I'm a new owner of S&W M&P9c and I love it by the way. Anyway I plan to add bowie sights to the gun and was wondering if Apex USB was a worthwhile upgrade, gun has the S&W upgraded part build date Nov 2013.

Thank you for any help.

Think you meant to say the RAM wont fit into the universal sear housing block.

The USB will fit in your M&P9c, and yes, we all agree it is a worthwhile upgrade. You're better off doing the whole kit at once as it was designed though.

LOL, read it and typed it, never noticed it... must be getting old.

The USB was the greatest improvement you could give an M&P, a little less so on some of the more recent incarnations with the improved triggers.

I actually have a polymer AEK trigger and sear on the way from Midway. I always do things a little at a time, didn't plan to do sear yet but since I have to take out anyway I decided to order it.

Thank you all for the help. I look forward to the upgrades as i replace the parts one by one

When I first got my 9c the trigger was scratchy. I finally narrowed it down to the striker block. I removed it and polished the heck out of it and the striker block bore. It was immediately a bit better but I was still not happy. I bought the Apex USB thinking I'd try it. It made all the difference in the world. That's the only mod in the gun. Its slick as can be right now.

I found it to be well worth the cost.

Just be sure to not lose the little metal plate on top of the striker block spring when you take the sight off. I'm told that the newer M&Ps have a little plastic piece that locks into the spring that eliminates launching it across the room. Just keep an eye on it. It took me about an hour to find it after I launched mine.

FYI here is a picture of the stock striker block (smoothed out after about 20k rounds) and the Apex USB. Some of the early striker blocks had very sharp edges on the top and it's these edges that cause the grittiness. Note: the "domed" top of the striker block points down and makes contact with the high peak of the trigger bar.

I'm definitely going to do the USB too. I replaced the trigger with Apex one and the SEAR. Almost like it increased some notchiness, I know not a word. I see Apex seems to have a more smooth design which I imagine will take care of the problem. Less pre-travel and more defined reset though so in that way did exactly what I was hoping for.
