M&P .22 Compact Loose Ejector?

My relatively new M&P .22 Compact is incredibly accurate. However, with all 6 magazines I have for it, and with all ammo I've used, (CCI mini mags, Federal bulk pack, Aquila, Blazer, Federal Auto Match, Remington Golden Bullet), I seem to get pretty consistent failures to eject. Most often, I have an empty case stuck horizontally at the top of the slide. I can easily flick the offending case out and keep firing, but what the heck is going on? I did notice that my ejector is a little loose; it wiggles a tiny bit. Is this normal, that the ejector should be loose? I know all .22's have some issues, but this seems excessive... any help out there?

Call S&W at 1-800-331-0852 explain the problem and they will send you a return slip Fed ex (if you are the original owner) purchased within a year. Turn around time for repair is under 3 weeks.

Upon further inspection, I found I am missing the whole extractor! Must have broken/fell out on the range. The pistol still ejects most of the time, I guess it's running in blowback mode! I figure it's time to ship it to S&W for repair.

And I just got it back from S&W today. Not too bad of a repair time and excellent service.

Glad to hear about the quick turn around. Hopefully your pistol will function as intended.

She ran great! The darn thing is Minute-of-Post-it-Note at 10 yards all day long. I ran about 400 various .22 lr rounds through it with zero issues. Great gun that is tied with my GSG 1911-22 for the title of most fun .22 pistol I own. ( As of now anyway).

new member here ....great forum!!
I bought a fde colored M&P 22 compact a week ago and this pistol is the greatest 22 that I ever owned , out of 500 rounds so far 1 ammo related failure (I was using CCI standard velocity) also the Aguilla super extra 40 grain are amazing.

however while cleaning the gun I noticed that the ejector (I guess it is the horizontal silver colored piece parallel and pointed towards the barrel is a little loose and wiggles ....
I saw the 2015 thread talking about the same problem (druryj) and was wondering if the problem was solved after it came back from S&W ?

also anybody else experience this problem?

thanks for your help .
Erick.

well I found out that the ejector is loose on a brand new 22 compact at the Alamo store in Naples, so I guess its something i'm not going to worry about ....seems pretty common !
