I did not see Vortex listed on the SW website under the CORE pistols.

It fits the #5 plate perfectly. I'm not sure which screws you need, the Burris needs those screws with the tapered bottom on the head, the Vortex looks like it would work fine with some of the others. If you look closely at my photos I just set the sights on top of the base, the same base I used on the Burris.

Well, my new Vortex red dot has found its new home, Cabela's had these on sale starting today, so I went there and adopted one.

Smith needs to fire the 800 lb gorilla who is grossly overtightening the screws on these, I was really scared I was going to strip the allen heads on these screws, the screw that retains the sight rail and the single take down screw. I had looked at a number of videos when these came out at the Shot Show, all of the guys kept saying just snug that screw down, don't over tighten it. I'll swear that take down screw was in so tight I almost bent my high quality allen wrenches trying to get them out, and the sight retaining screw was the same way.

Where did you have the work done ? What suppressor sights did you use ?

when you mount the venom on the 9c, do you have to have the gun milled or can you take the back sights off, and mount the red dot like a glock?

It can be done that way , but that is not the best way to do it . The best way to do it is to have the slide milled .

Milling the slide is the BEST way. Sight will be much closer to the bore axis.
The sight will be much sturdier as well when mounted directly to the slide, not the rear sight slot.

Cool Vortex Red Dot which model ?

The Vortex Viper Red Dot is better suited for pistols. I would recommend the larger 6 MOA Dot.
