Your most impressive grouping with your compact?

Last year, I was down at the cabin and my brother and I were trying out some new turkey loads at 40yds.

Shot my pattern and for the heck of it, fired three rounds, off-hand, with my M&P40 Compact.

Walked down to check the target and couldn't believe what I saw; 1" group...

Just got this one back from S&W after the slide stop blew off on both sides, test fired it at 25 yards offhand with 180 gr HST, got a 3" 5 shot group, slowfire. Not as impressive as the 1" group from 40, but this gun will hold 4" groups at 25 pretty consistently.

Congrats on the tight group. Probably the tightest M&P group I've seen at that range.

My first recorded group, 5 shots at 7 yards with an M&P40, was under 1". Then I learned to flinch.

Sorry, I haven't photographed my groups for several years, hope you weren't waiting for the pix.

I've yet to see a 1", 5 shot/25 yard group, from a factory M&P.

Yeah, especially not with a compact. Even a one-off, lucky 1" group is elusive, not even sure a stock m&p could do that from a machine rest.

This is the best 5 shot m&p group I've photographed, although not with a compact, a lucky one-off group though. The pistol averages about 4" 5 shot groups at 25 yards like all my other m&p's. Even my Core with an RMR still shoots about 4" on average, with the occasional lucky 2" group and the occasional unlucky 6".
