M&P9 Fullsize pistol problems ?

Are there any problems with the fullsize M&P9 pistols ? I have heard of some problems with them not going into battery . Is this correct and are there any problems at all ?
I have a NIB G17 that I am about to trade even for a NIB M&P9 Fullsize. I like both platforms so I am just wondering ? The only thing I dont like about the M&P is the roll pins .

A few VERY minor issues all resolved in early models. A very small percentage have suffered from "early unlocking" issues with the barrel, which causes a "stringing effect" with accuracy, which a barrel swap-out fixes. The reliability is awesome, and in the rare instance of issues, S&WCS is world class. It'll be addressed, free and quickly.

There has always been a complaint about ALL of the M&Ps with trigger grittiness, and I think it's almost in part due to the EXISTENCE of the Apex Tactical drop-in trigger parts that make it go away day-1. I've personally found that the grittiness is easy to remedy with a few hundred rounds down range and some good grease.

Glock still has the advantage of heritage and volume with its G17... but the balance of quality, and "shootability" is steadily tipping in the favor of the M&P.

As a fellow Glock owner, and having owned Glocks for 25 years--you'll be very happy with the M&P. Just picked up a new M&P9 a few days ago (my second one), and just a good cleaning/lube and some minimal dry-firing has reduced the grittyness significantly. Shooting will help even more. After 500rds or so down range you may have no desire to do anything further to your M&P. Enjoy.

After a couple days of dry firing, I'm already questioning my need for the apex sear purchase I just made (not here yet).

Thanks so much Jeff. I am a big Glock fan but I am still open minded to other guns . I may just give it a try .
Any other information is appreciated .

Hey I have just made the big leap and traded for a New in Box M&P9 Fullsize !
I am happy ! It was so cool because the guy had an unfired new in box M&P9 Fullsize and I had an unfired G17 new in box. We both traded even .
I am a big and I mean big Glock fan but I am open to new things . I had an M&P40 before but never an M&P9 . SO it all worked out great .
Thanks to the members that helped me with the information on the M&P9
