| Apex installation success
Installed the Apex hard sear and USB; outstanding. This is a significant change, much moreso than a Glock/3.5lb connector type mod. The plunger removes the crunchiness, the sear gives you a great, clean break--with no more front sight disruption. It has extremely minimal creep, almost inperceptable. I got real lucky in that my Glock MGW sight pusher worked* to remove the rear sight. I did have to remove the plate/striker to get the clearance to get the slide on the platform, but it worked. *Slight caveat: the model MGW I have was able to push the sight 3/4's of the way, then maxed out (hit the tool frame). I was able to tap it out the rest of the way with the nylon face of my hammer. The trigger break is quite light, so keep this in mind. Reset junkies won't find personal nirvana, but the reset is a little more discernable than stock (can be felt slightly on the trigger). Otherwise, I HIGHLY recommend this $80 upgrade. If you know how to shoot well, I can't imagine needing any lighter of a trigger. Last edited by stepheninaz; August 3rd, 2012 at 04:45 PM. |

Add a red Ma trigger return spring,it helps with reset and ups the pull. I have two 45's with the Apex DCAEK and the red spring, both triggers gauge about 5.5 to 5.75lbs. The triggers are super smooth.

I am loving the Apex stuff too. I just put the RAM and competition spring kit in my M&P9 Pro 5". I also put in a new sear that the guy I got it from had "extra" that someone gave him that he thought might be an Apex hard sear. Haven't got a chance for live fire yet, but nicely lightened the trigger pull. This gun will be for competition/range only so no worries with the lighter trigger pull. No idea what the pull is now, but is noticeably lighter than my M&P9 FS. I may end up ordering an Apex hard sear just to make sure I really have the right one. If it ends up being the same one, I will just put it in my other gun. I want to do the USB too, but no easy access to sight pusher at the moment.
