This is a discussion on white lettering on some m&p pistols within the MP Full Size Pistols forums, part of the Smith & Wesson MP Forum category; i am completely new to the m&p line of pistols, some of them appear to have white lettering on them... how do i get one?!...

I think most people paint-fill the engraving themselves.

Youtube has several videos on this.... I used a red polish, but it looks copper color on the slide. Very cool. |

The M&P22 has white painted-on roll marks. If you see a new gun with white lettering, chances are it's a 22.

Be sure to use non acetone polish remover. I believe the regular stuff may harm the finish on the slide. I did mine with metallic silver polish, and it looks great. They say it's not permanent. It will wear away eventually and need to be redone. |

By using the nail polish, you can either remove or change color much easier than other solutions.

If you just want to "try it on" you can use a grease pencil or china marker. Just rub it in and wipe off the excess. If you don't like it or you want to use a lacquer stick or paint you can easily remove it with a tooth pick and some heat.
