5" Pro Holsters?

Still waiting for Buds Police Supply to get some in stock but I figure I'd get some input from others. I know the 5" Pro has been out for a while, I bought my XD Tactical right after they were released and finding a holster that satisfied my wants were non-existent. I ended up with a leather 1911 holster re-formed to fit the XD.

I'm more interested in holsters that give full coverage. Full coverage meaning that the entire slide/muzzle is covered, not just one for FS that leaves the end of the end exposed. It's one of my pet peeves.

Mostly looking for OWB holsters. Lean more towards Kydex in recent years but interested in what's out there period.

Any suggestions?

If you like the Blade-Tech, I have a 5" belt mount holster with the S&W logo.
Got this with a bunch of stuff in a trade. If you want a paddle attachment, I believe they run about $11 from Blade-Tech.

I have no need for it and can make a reasonable deal with you.

PM me if interested.

I use a Comp-tac for IDPA. I also have Blade-tech holsters for some of my other guns that I run in IDPA. I would look into these two.

+1 for Comp-tac. I don't have one yet for my Pro (just got it yesterday) but have one for my standard M&P's and it's fast and smooth.

There are a few custom kydex holster makers out there that make them like Raven Concealment does, but for a fraction of the cost. Glocktalk has a member, EDCholsters and he makes great kydex products. HIghly recommended

I'll throw in my 2cents and recommend the Comp-Tac Paddle. Gun reassuringly snaps in and is held very close to the body. Very, very secure and will not pull out when drawing like some other paddles out there. I think it's a great deal at $57.50.

Why do these holsters always have the ejection port area uncovered? just curious. I guess so it's lighter or something?

I found it's easier to re-holster. Slide barrel back through opening and down.

Yup - I recess mine out, keeps the gun from snagging / wearing down on the edges. I dont like the cut away, I see it as an invitation for dirt to hop in

@ Konertjm & Gibson84: Like I said, I'm waiting for Buds Police to get em back in stock. I may break down and get the 4.25. Depends on how long my patience holds out.

No no no the guys i'm talkin about are holster makers such as EDCholsters on glocktalk. He's a guy out of KC that makes them for 55 shipped. Turn around time is usually about a week tops. He's got great reviews.

Also, shieldedholsters.com is a smaller company and the guy makes kydex or an excellent IWB like crossbreed's for a fraction of the price with an amazing turn around time... definitley check them out, you won't be dissapointed!!

Wait for the 5", that extra 1" of sight radius is worth it. I've owned two 4.25" which were accurate, but my 5" puts holes on top of holes. And it's got a fiber optic front sight... Trigger still needs to be broken in a bit more though...

Are you looking for 40 or 9 Pro? If you're looking for 40, and if you don't mind paying 83 dollars more, Bud's has 5 inch 40 Pro in stock right now.
