M&P adjustable sights

I'm finally picking my M&P Pro up out of layaway. It was supposed to be out a month ago but vehicle trouble prevailed. Luckily the gun shop is good to work with me heck I've only bought 6 guns from him he knows I'll be back. Anyway I shoot a steel plate match. We start at 10 yards and work back to 25 yards with 8" plates. I already reload and have been using my Glock for the match. I load light because speed is a factor and recoil slows me down. I had to add an adjustable rear sight to the Glock because at 25 yards I had to hold over the plates to hit them with my light loads. I suspect even though the M&P Pro has a longer barrel it will still be an issue for me. What adjustable sights have you guys tried and keep in mind I am budget concious. I appreciate the input.

I think Dawson and Novak make adjustable rears for the M&P's. If you go with an adjustable rear sight you will need to install a taller front sight and cannot use the factory one.

Hey DJ,
I vey got the Novak adjustable fiber optic rear and hi viz FO front. To be honest, I don't like the Novak at all. Sharp edges cut me under my fore arm if I knock arm against it when holstered. They don't go low enough even for higher front sights (can't think what heightnitnis off hand). So I still have to aim at 6oclock even with the adjusted stuff. Very annoying. I'd suggest just changing the front sight with a shorter one to bring the front of the barrel up. If that's whats needed.

I was thinking about just replacing the front sight. My Pro is strictly for competition and the match I shoot now there is no power factor. I tested my Pro this weekend with the loads I have been using in the Glock and the Pro shot them very well just low. The Glock is a 10mm that I was using a Lone Wolf conversion .40 barrel so the bullet impact from warm to hot 10mm and the very light .40 was huge so I had to put an adjustable sight on it. I think I can get by with just changing the front sight height on the M&P since it will be .40 only and mostly just light loads. If I do branch out into IDPA or USPSA later I might upgrade then. I wish I could leave it alone I like the sights on it but I have to hold at the top of an 8 inch plate at 25 yards to hit it so at full speed that makes it challenging when you can't see the target at all. The match is next week and I really want to shoot the Pro my groups were much tighter with it than with the Glock so I expect good things I just have to get the bullet impact up.

I installed Dawson FO front and adjustable rear sights on my FS M&P9 and have been very pleased with their performance. The price was reasonable and the installation not too difficult.
