First off hello everyone been a long time lurker first time posting. I bought an m&p 9c about a month ago and fell in love so last night I traded my sig p250 for a full size m&p 357 sig. Just wanted to see if anyone else has the 357 flavor and how they like it. Glad to me a member there's a ton of good info here!
My first M&P was a .357. I liked it well enough...not that different from a .40 really. I swapped out the barrel for a Storm Lake in .40S&W and shoot that mostly these days. The .357 ammo was too expensive and generally hard to find...not much interest in it in Canada.
That was my only concern was the ammo price. My sig was a 45acp so I'm used to paying a little more. If it gets to be too much a 40 barrel nay be in order!
i have a M&P 40FS that i have a SL converter barrel for 9mm and just got a 357 factory barrel from Midway for about $62.
i tried the 357 out a couple of weeks ago. it definitely is a little snappier than the 40.
since ammo for it is expensive, i didn't go crazy with it. just wanted to see how different it was from the 40 and 9mm.
I have an M&P 357 and also a long side 357, which was a 40 Pro with a 357 Black Oxide barrel from Storm Lake. Love 'em, shoot IDPA style matches every week, several thousand rounds a year. Had a 357C, but traded it for a Shield, which conceals better in difficult environments. Apex Duty/Carry triggers in all of them. Wich someone made a 357 barrel for 40 Shield.
One of the best buys in ammo for carry is at Underwood ammo with the nosler "jacketed hp" , speer gd sold as the "bonded hp" and the XTP hp bullets . There velocity tends to be spot on or low . Holiday sales are shipping free with there $ minimum orders.
I.
