Anyone else gone "Full M&P"?

I started out in pistols liking the DA/SA trigger, and owned several in 9mm and .45, and I've done the 1911 thing and I have revolvers that I love. But I feel like I'm beyond some of that now and, having bonded nicely with my Shield 9mm, I decided my full size pistol should be an M&P9. I'll keep some of my favorites in other flavors around (like my Glock 21), but I'm going to concentrate on nothing but shooting skills. A full size and CCW size in the same family should be a big help.

And to complement them, I have an MP15 and will soon have a Kel Tec Sub2000 that takes M&P 9mm magazines for some pistol caliber carbine fun.

I don't know how long this will last, but we shall see...

Oops, almost forgot the obligatory "new baby" picture. 200 rounds of FMJ today, perfect function.

Can't say I have gone "Full M&P" but I do have a Full Size, Compact and a Shield and my wife has a Full Size, all in .40S&W.

Up until recently I carried my Shield, before that I carried my Compact. The only reason I bought the Shield was due to me driving 8+ hours at a time in a compact car and I started having back pain, changed to the Shield and the back pain went away. Now that I don't do long hours of driving I've gone back to the Compact...or is it a Full Size? I bought the kit that allows the use of the Full Size slide on my Compact frame...for what is called the M&P Hybrid...best of both worlds for me! ymmv!

Haven't gone full M&P, but...

My avatar is a picture of my full-size 9. Recently purchased a Shield .40 (no pictures yet), and have a full size 40 on the way!

I started using M&P's as a range gun with my first M&P9 in '07. I gave to my wife a couple years ago, after she shot a two day 1500 round count training course with it.

I currently have two M&P9's, a 9c, a PC Shield9, and a 45 Shield.

They replaced my 1911's as my most carried pistols a couple of years ago.

My 1911's still outnumber my M&P's, and I own a variety of other handguns as well, but they're definitely my "go to" guns.

Well, no, I haven't. But I have gone to guns that only have the same grip angle and I won't consider guns that don't have it. I have one semi-auto that I haven't shot in over a decade because of the different grip angle (the only one I have with that grip angle). Because of the political climate I am getting all the work done on my existing guns so that they last the rest of my life and then some.

OK, I have to ask... where is the Sub2k coming in from? I've had one on order for months (using M&P mags) and nothing so far. I was hoping to get it in soon enough to try it at least once this outdoor USPSA season in PCC, but it's looking as though that might not happen in 2016.

Check Wikiarms.com for Sub2ks. They come and go. I happened to check the other day and they had some, at UNDER $500, so I jumped on it. If they don't have them, keep trying.

I stopped at Academy today and picked up some Hornady ammo, which I favor because it's generally available pretty much everywhere. Every round cycled perfectly. The +P American Gunner was louder, but didn't feel noticeably different from the standard pressure of the other two. I also picked up two mags.

I too jumped ship from Glock to M&P9 FS for my carry gun.

All in as I also bought the MGW sight pusher and did the Apex FSS Flat trigger kit.
As close to a 1911 trigger as you can get with a striker fired pistol.

.

Thanks. I'll keep checking. We stopped at the local dealer today and what did my wandering eyes see? A sub2k for M&P mags. I'd had it on order for at least 5 months. So I inquired if they had called me as we'd been out and not home to answer the phone. The conversation progressed and I told them that I'd been waiting since at least May and if no one had their name on the gun it was mine. The gent checked the loose sheets on the clipboard and couldn't find my name. I stated that it wasn't problem, I was "here" and the gun was sold if no ones name was on it. So I started to fill out the paperwork when he came over and told me that the woman who was standing right next to me while all of this took place had already been run through the instant check and it was hers. She never said a word during all of that conversation.

The guy checking for my info knew that I was correct as he remembered when I came in to place it on order, and he also found me in the computer. I told him that he had put 50 of them on order, and he also remembered that. I was told that he should be able to get one for me in 1-2 weeks, but I have no confidence in them at this point even if I stop in every week to inquire. If I find one before he does, he can transfer it to me unless I misplace his card and use another dealer. It was probably an honest mistake, but dammit (!) I've been waiting for at least 5 months and he sold my gun! I hope it was made on a Friday or a Monday. Damn that woman for not speaking up and putting me through that roller coaster!

So I'm looking.

I too have switched over to the M&P from other platforms.
I had a very nice Kimber .45 ( CDP Pro) but the last few range trips I just didn't do as well with it as I used to. Also had a XDm in 9mm.
After I got my FDE FS .40. I got to looking at all the different ammo, different magazines, for the different pistols, and got the urge to "standardize".
I sold the Kimber and XDm, and got a second M&P .40, so now I only have one type of ammo and mags to keep track of.
Then last week a .22 Compact M&P "followed" me home.
I have been thinking about the KelTec SB2000, but was reading in the specs that the .40 S&W version takes S&W 4006 magazines. Are they the same as the ones that the M&P uses ? If I can't use the same mags I have for my M&P, that will be a deal breaker.

Well, I can't say that I've gone full M&P, but I've gone quite a ways. Have a few that are definately my main carry choices, and we will be adding a Bodyguard 380 for my wife here shortly.

Gosh I love the feel and grip angle on my new (and my first M&P) FS 9. Love it!

Political climate has me worried about mags, certian guns etc.... They need to back off our damn firearms. If they are worried about deaths then lets ban everything that causes them. Drunk drivers- ban liquor, texting drivers- ban cellphones, people who just cannot drive- ban automobiles, planes used in terror attacks- ban aviation, lung cancer- ban tobacco, stabbings- ban all knives, baseball bats used as weapons- ban baseball, if an inmate can make a deadly shank from even a toothbrush or melted Styrofoam cup- ban tooth brushes, combs, cups, pencils etc....

People with mental disorders or those hell bent on hurting people will find a way. Heck an Isis video or something tells them to use F150's if have to in order to kill us. What protects us in that situation? A damn gun in skilled hands does!

Sorry for my rant OP, just tired of all the left wing liberal morons who.... well thats an even bigger rant...
