I picked up a 40 cal 5 inch model this week. My local shop has several of them. Here are my thoughts. I can't compare to other/older versions of the mp. This is my first s&w product. I read about them and after holding and looking at I had to have it. The fit and finish is superb. The trigger feels good. I like the option of the different back straps. The stippling feels good in the hand. The sights look like they will work fine but I have not had the chance to fire it. The pistol is well balanced. As stated I can't compare to previous models but this pistol but it looks and feels great and that made me purchase one. I never really wanted an m&p but really am pleased with my purchase and plan on getting another in the 4.25 barrel. I am not law enforcement, this will be used for home defense, personal protection and feel it will serve my purpose. I think they will sell lots of these. I feel many people like me will be first time buyers of s&w because of the 2.0.

Hopefully they copied APEX`s dwell timing as well, and fitted the barrels too, like APEX does, too.
I love it when a small company (apex) fix`s big (s&w) company`s problems... to an extent...
But what pizz`s me, is when i buy the big company`s product, i have to go over to the small company`s to make it work right.
Come on Pa; S&W changed their twist rate on 9mm barrels to 1/10 a few years ago (not that I thought it was necessary).

I always thought that the slide dropping on a forceful reload was an "enhancement;" not a problem. I still do...

Out of curiosity, are the back straps interchangeable between v1 and v2?

Thanks for the video, very well done!

Have you by chance put a trigger pull gauge on the M2.0?

No I have not, but my calibrated trigger finger rates it around 6.5 lbs.

I'm currently working on an addition to my original video on the M&P trigger job that will focus on the 2.0. I'm almost positive that I'll be able to get it to around 4.0 to 4.5 with little effort.

Give me a few days and I'll update my vids. I focused these vids on a 'Burwell Style' trigger job.

Yes. I checked that out this morning and they fit fine. BUT, without the corresponding texture along the sides and down the front-strap, you do not get the same grip qualities as you do with the 2.0.
