What Parts Are Interchangeable ... V1 to 2.0?

I called S&W Customer Support today to find out EXACTLY what springs, small parts, etc ... are interchangeable between the Standard and 2.0 and I got a big "I don't know, but I'm sure it will come out soon!"

Do any of you who have had your hands on one at home figured it out yet? I currently have both, but want to get a more 'Professional' opinion on what parts interchange.

Thanks

The guide rods appear to be the same length and width.

I compared a new Wolff Steel Guide Rod to a 2.0 captivated Guide Rod, and they appear to be the same.

The grip inserts and the mag catch are interchangeable.

I don't own one, but I took a look at a friend's. My M&P 9 Pro has a 3# trigger, so did this other gun. The only difference I was able to see besides the obvious was a better milling job on the slide compared to my FS9 in 4-1/4" barrel. I didn't remove springs or anything not needed for a field strip and quick clean. I can't say whether it was better or worse than my 9mm Pro and didn't have a chance to shoot it.

As to parts interchanging, I have no clue. But at least you're interested enough to ask.

All M&Ps have always had a safety option.

After reading your past posts ... are you just trying to stack your posts for a 'Post Count'?

Actually, there was no "safety" version of the M&P for the first few years of its production. In fact, the safety models were not covered in the LE armorer's course until around 2010 (4 years +/- after the M&P's introduction). I was under the impression the safety models were going to be discontinued, but since they chose to include them in the 2.0 models, I suspect they must have changed their mind.

I'd love to see someone step up and make some aftermarket Recoil Springs, Guide Rods ... etc ...

I can't recall ... how long does it generally take for independent companies to start rolling out aftermarket parts after a model change?

Maybe that's a question for Speed Shooters Specialties...
