2.0 slide question

So I've got a new 2.0 and I noticed something strange and I wanted to see if everyone else's gun (2.0's only obviously) does the same thing.

After field stripping the gun when I put the slide back on I have to manually lock the slide to the rear and flip the takedown lever. On my 9c, when I reinstall the slide I just push it all the way back and the takedown lever flips to the locked position without any additional input. Does the 2.0 not do that?

On your 9c there is a nub left over from the casting process of the take-down lever that caused it to snap up. A few years back it was talked about on this and other forums almost daily. If you take your 9c's take-down lever out you can see it. Many people, me included, took a file to it and filed it flat and fixed it. I've attached a pic of it:

Oh and WELCOME!!

Thanks for the response. So the auto lock was not desirable? If you filed that part I assume it was to eliminate that function.

Mine snapped back up too, but I was able to hold it down without much problem, some people were having a harder time than me keeping it down during reassembly.

I saw the "fix" posted and thought I'm going to give it a try, big deal if I screwed it up, I could order a new one for less than $5. I filed mine and the only way it snaps up now, is if I push it up.

So, "desirable" depends completely on the user. If you're able to complete the reassembly without its snapping up hindering your reassembly, then you might call it "desirable". But if those users who struggle with the reassembly because of it snapping up would most likely call it a defect or a pain in the ass!

My full size, snaps up, and my Shield stays down, and I manually flip it up. Never really gave either any thought.

Cool. I never really thought much about it until the 2.0 didn't snap up automatically. I guess it doesn't matter to me either way but I was curious. Thanks for the feedback

What does your owner/operator manual tell you.

Well, since both manuals say the same thing about the takedown lever and each gun does something different I figured I would ask. Is that okay or did my situation not justify a question?

Your question is a valid one. Nowhere in the manual does it say it will or should snap up unassisted on reassembly.

Have a question you can't find an answer for...ask away, we'll try to answer it the best we can.

Whoaaaaaa easy there sunshine, i didnt ask my question just to be an azzhole towards you. I just wondered if there was anything in the manual about it for the M2.0. I dont have a M2.0 manual here, so how would i know if it might of had what you were looking for and you could have overlooked it, or didnt take the time to read it. Its not like people read the manual before coming in here, it happens all the time.

98% of the time when someone asks what the manual says, they're being a jerk and assuming that it wasn't checked. If that wasn't your intent then I apologize.
