M&P9 broken slide lock
I noticed on my M&P9 that the right side of the slide lock is broken off. The pistol still functions but the slide can only be released from the left side of the pistol. I hardly ever use the slide release anyway, but would still like to replace the part. Is this something that an amateur guns smith gun handle, or should I send the pistol in for repair? Also I have had some gunsmith work done on the trigger. If I send it in for repair will the repair shop put the trigger back to stock configuration?

It is fairly easy to fix. Apex Tactical has some videos on their website for putting in their parts that would also aid you in replacing the Slide Stop. If you call S&W they'll send you a return label to send the pistol in. Whether they'll return your trigger to stock is a good question...maybe, maybe not. If it were me, I'd buy a slide stop and do the install myself. Speed Shooter Specialties shows they have them in stock for $13.
