Ordered M&P 2.0 w 5" barrel 4 weeks ago....

Guys,
I placed an order and paid for an M&P 2.0 w/5" barrel 4 weeks ago, and my shop says none of their suppliers have it in stock. Is Smith that far behind, or is the 5" just not being made in numbers. Seems odd it's taking this long.

Can't help you since I don't know. I was told at a number of gun shops 1 1/2 years ago that it could take some time for them to get one in. So I found one online and had it sent to my LGS for the transfer to me. You might also try GunBroker or any of the other online auction/sales sites. Be sure to cancel the order through your local dealer if you do that. It's only the right thing to do. But mine just allows it to come in so that they can put it on the wall.

I've been doing that more and more lately myself.

image.jpeg Picked my M&P M2.0 5" a couple of weeks ago. Used it yesterday at an IDPA match. Like the trigger and accuracy.

Thanks. I might go that route. I've already paid for it so I'll talk to them about maybe going through a dealer that has one.

Nice. That's the same reason I ordered one. I've been using a XD Tactical but wanted to try the MP. I have MPs in 40 and the M2.0 9mm in the 4.25". Can't wait to try one.

Don't know that its 100% true, but both of my favorite lgs's told me(probably the same gun wholesalers) were giving priority to shops who order 5 m2.0s at a time.
The lgs I bought my M2.0 9 from had ordered 5, 1 baby turd 5", 2 4.25" no safety, and 2 4.25" safety models all 9mm. They only had 4.25" with safety left when I was in last week.

My other favorite lgs just got 5, all 9 and am not sure of the break down but they did have a baby turd 5" with safety.

I use the Blade Tech OWB holster for IDPA, it's designed for the M&P Pro 5" but my 5" M2.0 fits great.

I gave up guys on trying to get the M&P 2.0 in 9mm w/5" barrel, and had them get me the M&P Pro in 5". I already tossed in the APEX Semi drop in barrel into it, and it is awesome.

I have the M2.0 in the 4.25" and I'm not a fan of the new grip. Its they went overboard on the texture in my opinion.

I have the M2.0 in the 4.25" too, and it may be because I'm just getting used to it, but it seems like the stippling isn't quite as sharp as when it was the day I bought it. I did carry it around in my IWB holster the other day and the stippling was not comfortable against my skin.

It might be like the Shields were when they first came out. Demand far outweighted supply. Everyone was having to wait, but after a while it wasn't hard to find one.

image.jpeg To bad you could not get the M2.0 5". Really like the 5" FDE especially after taking off the big ass safety.
