Yes.

I shot my 1.0 9mm Pro in IDPA and bought a 2.0 5". I found the 2.0 grip backstrap too sticky for fast draw. My hand was used to sliding along the edge of the backstrap, similarly to my CZ where this is actually smooth, and the new 2.0 grip reminded me of trying to rapid-draw with Hogue rubber grips. There is a reason you don't see Hogue rubber grips on a lot of comp guns. Once you are set, it feels great...But it's hard to position your grip quickly in draw and rapid reloading situation.

I experimented with putting the 1.0 backstrap on the 2.0, and that helped, but the best was after I dremel-polished just the back edge of the 2.0 backstrap, where my hand would slide up into the tang. It's now smooth there like the 1.0 was, but the rest of the 2.0 backstrap retains that most excellent grippy-ness. Best of both worlds

Its legal in IDPA to re-texturize any removal grip component on a pistol.

I like the 2.0 texture but beyond that I don't see many reasons to upgrade. Besides the CORE backstrap on my 1.0 is equally great. I also stuck on a rubberized Talon to the front of the grip so my gun is quite grippy.
