M&P PRO Slides and Barrels

S&W informed me that their "Pro" models of the M&P will not be available in California. Does anyone know if the Pro's longer slide and barrel can be used on the "standard" lower receiver frame. Is this even viable? Would a new S&W slide and barrel be cost prohibitive?

Yup, it works. I have a 9L slide on my Fullsize frame right now, I didn't have time to do a trigger job on the new gun in time for this weekends match.

Midway is selling upper assemblies for the Fullsize in 40S&W right now for $167.60 on sale. Not sure if they will have the longer version for sale anytime soon. If they did I would have just got an upper to change out instead of a whole new gun.

Ok I have a M&P .45 is it possible for me to just buy a new barrel like in either .40 or .357 Sig drop it in get new mags and have it be ready to go?

Or would it be best just to buy another completed firearm?

The dimensional specs of your 45 are completely different than a 40/9/357....I doubt that you'll ever see that conversion kit available...the mags are completely different sized (longer front to back). If you want a smaller caliber M&P, you'll need to buy one.
