Apex Flat Faced

Hello,

I was a 1911 shooter and, like many, unhappy with the trigger on my M&P 40c. I would like the flat faced trigger, however, I do like the comfort of a 4-5lb pull. Between the politics that surround it (possibility of ND due to weight, competition vs carry, weight matters vs finger placement matters, etc) and the simple fact I plan to transition into appendix, I'd like the pull weight AND the fact I have the external safety.

I have read most people are getting a 3-3.5lb trigger with this set up, and I'm just not very fond of that. I plan to purchase the kit and see what I end up with, however, I want to know how I would increase the trigger pull in the event I am still unhappy with it.

Call Apex and ask. They may have special order springs available for just this purpose.

The kit does come with two trigger return springs. If you're used to a 1911 I doubt you'll find the kit to be too light.

Ive been looking into this as well and as far as I know the second trigger return spring brings it back up to the 4-5lb area for "duty/carry" applications.

Dont hold me to that, thats just what I read...

It comes with a heavier trigger return spring, but if you wanted heavier, you should be able to use the duty/carry spring kit with the FSS.

I'd put the stock springs back in place if it's too light.

What kit are you thinking of installing? They do have a kit that yields a 5- 5 1/2# trigger. It's their carry enhancement kit.

My M&P9 with the CAEK installed yielded a trigger pull of a little under 2 1/2 pounds.

I installed the Apex hard sear and striker block in another M&P9 and a 9c, while retaining the stock trigger return and striker springs.

That yielded trigger pulls of 3 3/4 pounds, and three pounds 10 1/2 ounces, respectively.

I routinely use the last two for carry without concern.

Flat faced trigger?

Do you find that the flat face takes more reach compared to the original shape trigger face?

I keep the stock triggers on all my M&P's.

The major trigger pull and reset enhancements come from replacing the striker block and sear.
