Apex up grade short story

Installed a Apex Duty/carry kit in my new Shield. Just wanted to say it was very, VERY easy to do, and well worth the $88 I spent. Turned my Shield from a pretty good gun to a pretty great gun. It also unexpectedly and near totally cured my low and left POI problem I was having unique to this gun. Now I'm keeping the vast majority my shots inside of a 4" circle at 30 feet, often in a
3" circle. My groups went from nearly ALL shots low and left to almost none.

An keep in mind I'm at best a novice handgun shot. I am extremely interested where I will be with this gun (as well as my other M&P for that matter) 6 moths to a year from now. I plan on installing an Apex kit on my other M&P as well. If I progress with my FS M&P as well as I suspect, I will be buying others for certain.

If you don't already know what tools you will need watch the Apex video and that will tell you. If you end up having to heat up your rear sight to remove the set screw consider using a soldering iron in place of a propane torch. Just keep contact with the sight and stop heating it once it feels reasonably hot to your touch.

What is the most noticeable difference? I believe I read it makes the take up a little heavier making is feel like a more steady pull. Is that what you found.

Biggest difference is 95%+ of the creep during trigger press is gone. My old trigger was actually pretty light, but it felt to me as a constant creep to the release of the firing pin from the sear, and I was not able to perceive it with and level of consistency as to when it would break, now its a slight take up to a solid stop, then almost zero creep and the trigger breaks totally predictable and consistently repeatable. VERY little perceived over travel. In other words my trigger now feels the same very time.

One thing I should add, I used the S&W factory trigger return spring instead of the one supplied by Apex because the S&W was noticeably lighter in pull weight. But I decided it was to light a trigger pull weight for a defensive HG and installed the Apex Trigger return spring.
