Apex or Wilson Barrel

I'm looking to replace my barrel for something a little better. I know both Apex and Wilson are well made and just about the same price but is there any advantages of one over the other or just preference in companies.

in my opinion, the Apex semi-drop in would be the best choice because it can be fit to achieve the best lock-up possible on your particular frame and slide.
The other barrels may or may not be an improvement with your frame and slide.

If you are not satisfied with the accuracy of your pistol, I would suggest that you have S&W look at it before spending money on different barrels. You might just have a "bad barrel" to begin with and a new factory barrel could cure the problem at no cost to you.

My M&P 9 4.25 had no dot, one dot, and 2 dot barrels installed by S&W and a Storm Lake installed by me with little to no difference in accuracy (absolute smallest group at 15 yds was over 4 inches).

When I fit the Apex barrel my groups immediately shrank to about 2 inch . This is what I shoot with my 1911 45. I guess this is about all I can expect given my 80 year body and eyes.

Dittos what Don wrote. Same experience here.

I replaced my OEM barrel with a Wilson but it was to factory specs and that was my problem... the factory spec's on my gun. The Wilson barrel may have been marginally better. But when I went to a fitted Apex I had similar results to Don's.
