Why not ask Apex if it will work?

I have the same question, but I have a 5" M&P Pro 40 cal

I emailed APEX, but the reply made me think they didn't read my question correctly

" No, we only make a barrel for the 9mm at this time. We are in the middle of a big move from California to Arizona which will allow us to design and manufacture other calibers such as your 40 in the near future. Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

Thank You,

I replied and I'll let you know what they say.

The tangs at the rear of the barrel are wider for a .40 than a 9, so will not work.
You can get a Storm Lake 40 to 9 conversion barrel.
Doesn't really answer your question, but is an option. BTW, you can use a 40 mag to feed 9 as well. They sit a little higher, but have functioned perfectly for me.

Looks like Apex understood your question just fine. Their reply is "No". They go on to say that due to their move, they may be able to produce their exceptional barrels in a 5" 40S&W to 9mm conversion variety.
