Feels great in the hand, fit and finish is great, the trigger is wonderful, I'll have a better assesment of it after it gets shot Saturday.....that's if I can find some 357 mag, I can find 38 sp. no problem but 357 mag is virtually non existent down here.

I really want one and I'm trying to justify the price compared to a 686 or the new Model 66. Please let me know what you think after you get to shoot it Thanks!

Will do bud, I've got some 38sp, 38 sp +p, 125 and 158g 357 mag I'm gonna run through it. Btw if your ever down in San Antonio, your more than welcome to try it out yourself. I know how you feel about the cost, I flip flopped over getting the r8 for I dunno how long, almost bought a 686 plus more than once but finally decided that I'd like to continue working to complete the m&p collection and have a "tacticool" revolver.

Bill,

I seem to be stuck in humpback mode, the 649 is in the range bag for tomorrow A.M. I picked it up last Saturday if I hadn't mentioned it already.

My m&p family just grew

Alright, just got done cleaning it. Put 250 rounds through it. Not a single problem. I've never said this before but this gun is perfect, it's not too small and for me it's not too big. I have normal sized hands but long lanky fingers lol. The n frame has always fit my hand perfect. The 5" barrel combined with the larger scandium n frame has a great balance to it, still has some weight to it but not as hefty as the older 27s and and 29s. 357 mags pack a punch but not so much that they wear you out, 38 sp was nice almost 22ish with more noise, 38 sp +p's were my fav, right in between the 38 and 357. Single action was great, nice light trigger pull with hardly no over travel. Double action is great as well, a couple employees thought it was a bit heavy, but for me it's fine, it's still light enough to get a smooth even pull.
If anyone is thinking about 1 of these I'd say if and when you find 1......buy it. I grew up with revolvers and this is by far the most well rounded revolver I've ever owned.

Edit: my only complaint about it is it has the Hillary hole....

Nice write up, sounds solid. Are you going to carry this? Can you report back on that if you do?

Regards,
Chuck

It won't be my EDC but I will get a owb holster and carry it as my sidearm when I go hog hunting.
