I have had my .40 full size for awhile now, and just got my ccw so decided to get a little brother. M&P shield performance center .40!

Full size has truglo tfo night sites (soon to be XS big dot) brownells Apex Red flat faced trigger kit, core backstrap, and TTI extended base pad.

Shield is a stock performance center!

Nice M&Ps!

Do you notice the Shield being any louder with the ports?

How does the Core backstrap feel compared to the standard and where can it be purchased?

When I needed a replacement Pro Shop CORE backstrap I had to give a serial number that S&W checked to see if I really had the gun that it is supplied on. So S&W is out for a supplier.

It feels really good and is worth doing IMO. It's night and day difference from my #10098 to the feel of the 9c.

On my 9c I'd love to have the same backstrap, but I know better than to even inquire with S&W. I found NoeQuarter (google it) to have a similar product. Right now I'm waiting for him to get me what I want made. Maybe that'll help? You want the most aggressive one that he makes. In the lineup on the site there were three shown. I believe it's the one to the extreme right; I can't remember what he calls it. As I don't have one yet I can't comment from a user standpoint. Maybe there are other sources. I just want to do business with a vet'.

The backstrap is a world of difference, a lot better feel and grip. I bought it used off of the classifieds, you can only get them with a CORE model.

Shot about 100 rounds today, and it is the slightest bit louder but not bad at all. Trigger feels really nice, crisp break and really good reset. Recoil was really manageable, felt better than my full size, especially with hornady 165gr critical defense rounds.
