Hurry up and get yours... they only made 500 of them! Since this one is mine, there are only 499 left!

It's a well...for the mag.....

Also makes it easier to insert a magazine faster when you're doing competition.

Good god that thing is hideous. Looks like it would make hitting the hole with the mag about as easy as it was hitting the hole with my ex-girlfriend. Like throwing a hotdog down a hallway.

Any possibility of an internal mag well for the M&P? I'd like one, but not that thing.

Mine is on it's way to me. I'm looking forward to it.

jdc,

This is a competition part. When shooting USPSA or 3 gun, you want any and all advantages that you can get. The enlarged opening of this magwell will make reloads a bit faster and easier. It also gives you a bit of margin for error. I like them on game guns. I won't put one on a carry gun. Fortunately, I have two M&P9s. One for carry, one for gaming.

I knew SSS would be coming out with it soon, I am just curious of what it is made of, anyone know? I like my buddies Glock mag well, made of aluminum its solid and does the job. I am going to contact SSS tomorrow and ask, and yes place my order too... I will try to give you some more information, as we all should.

BTW, lets keep the opinions of other peoples guns to ourselves. There is no need for it anywhere, especially here.

Morgan,

The one pictured above is anodized aluminum. Kenny also said he's working on a brass magwell to add a bit of weight to the butt of the gun. It attaches using a modified takedown tool. Replace the factory one with the modified one supplied with the magwell, drive in a pin and the magwell is on. You will need to modify the Taylor Freelance pads to work with the magwell according to the conversation I had with Kenny on Wednesday. I didn't think to ask about the Arredondo's. I'll let you know what I find out on those next week when I put the magwell on my pistol.

Joe

edited to add more info

I completely understand it's a comp gun part. I've seen some comp guns that are ugly as sin, but they are 100% bad-ass. I'd put one on my M&P9 if they come up with an internal like I've seen on other guns. I just have no need for a comp gun part, as I have no plans to shoot competitively. My gun is for target shooting, and eventually, it will be my carry gun.

Joe,

Thanks for the input, I was curious about the Arredondo base pads too. Now if they "Arredondo's" only made the base pads for .45's I would be very happy.

Hopefully mine will be on its way tomorrow.

I love my competition guns to be ugly as hell, makes it all the better when I whip someone with their $2500 race gun, when my gun looks like ass.

The brass one will be perfect on my soon to be complete open M&P.

I hope to have it done in about 4-5 weeks, but trust me when I say this: You won't want one of my competition guns as a background. Imagine Nemo's put through a rock tumbler. Which I am certain Nemo's will look like that within a couple weeks as well.
