I just picked up a M&P9 FS a couple weeks ago. My CPL application is currently working its way through the FBI, and I hope to be carrying in the next month or two. I'm looking for some advice on holsters. I generally wear shorts or jeans, and untucked tshirts or polos. I realize I will need to get some larger carry clothes, but I still need a holster that is comfortable and conceals well. Some browsing on here has led me to think the C-tac is a good choice, but I want to verify before I buy anything as I'm in college and can't really afford to buy a bunch of 100 dollar holsters only to find out I don't like them. I don't forsee any situation where I will carry OWB, or with a tucked in shirt, so I guess it comes down to comfort more than anything. Also, I wear belts daily, so belt loops are fine.

Thanks for the help!

Comp-Tac MTAC all the way....Very comfortable, very good concealment even with a tucked in shirt.

Take a look at Crossbreed Supertuck, CTAC Minotaur, and Raven Concealment. I ordered a Raven Concealment Phantom with both the C clips and Velcro Clips. I chose Raven because you can use the same holster for OWB, IWB, and will fit both my compact and FS 9. It is a tuckable IWB holster as well. Downside is there is a 40 day wait. Should get mine in 2 weeks. There is a good post about the Raven on GlockTalk with some good pictures and reviews.

Seee Yaaa!

Milt Sparks VM2 is great. Pricey and a long wait time but well worth it.

Thanks for all the replies, first of all.

Haven't made it past the comp-tac website yet, but I want to make sure I understand each of these fully before I move on to look at the next one.

Is the only difference between the CTAC and MTAC the leather to keep the kydex off of the body? This sounds like a good option, and I'm not seeing any other differences, but I also don't see a difference in price between the two?

I'm checking out all of your suggestions so keep them coming, with reasons if possible

Galco Summer Comfort, around $60.

I have worn one every day for the past 10 months and still like it.

I do wear a T shirt between it and my skin with an open cover shirt.

Looper... http://www.shop.customcarryconcepts.com/pr...mp;productId=10

I would contact Rich first to see if he is caught up, regardless whether he is caught up or not the the wait is worth it.

I have the looper for my fs45. It was a wait, but the holster has one hell of a fit and it's my first iwb holster.

Find a good store with a large inventory so that you can try the holsters. I don't have access to such an animal locally so I have a drawer full of experiments for each of my pistols.

I think I'm leaning towards the MTAC. I like the leather backing, as I don't generally wear undershirts, and the belt clips being on struts rather than right on the gun portion seems like it would offer better concealment.

All the stores I've been able to find don't really carry any of these that are being discussed, and the ones I've tried I don't really like. My dad also has a FS M&P and is getting that same drawer full, but he carries OWB or in the small of the back so I can't use his for reference unfortunately.
