Which Reflex Sight For My Core?

I recently purchased an M&P 40L Core, and went to look through my coupons included in the purchase today.

At first I was going to buy the EOTech MRDS at 50% off MSRP, but realized that it EXPIRED on 4/15/13 !!!

Now, I'm back to square one. EOTech are the only Reflex sights that I have any experience with, and don't know of any other.

What would you suggest?

Thanks

Did you check with the manufacture to see if they would still honor the coupon?

Which Reflex Sight For My Core?

A little off topic but I'm curious. Do all C.O.R.E. pistols come with coupons for reflex sights?

That's the thing that threw me off.

Mine was test fired on 3-14-13 and it came with them. I only picked it up two weeks ago, and the coupons must have been expired when I bought it!!!

Do any of you have any experience with the Burris Fastfire II? I've read good things about them on a picatinny / Rifle setup, but didn't know how well they would hold up on a high stress slide of a pistol.

Re: Which Reflex Sight For My Core?

I have the core 4.25 in 9mm and got the leupold delta point. There's only 3 red dot sights that will allow you to cowitness, the leupold, trijicon rmr and docter optic.

As for the burris fastfire you'll have to purchase a separate burris adaptor plate and remove the rear sight to be able to mount it, so no cowitness. Plus it's an extra $50 bucks for the plate.

I'm liking my deltapoint, it was $80 bucks more than the docter optic but it's quality and has a 2 year warranty on the electronics and lifetime on the frame, works well with the gun and looks good too.

The RMR is the clear choice.

We have a couple C.O.R.E. models now, one with Leupold and the other with a J-point (because we liked them on another defensive M&P). The wider Deltapoint is best for competition while the tiny J-point conceals well. RMR would be best for an open carry duty/defensive pistol, probably great for varying illumination competition too, but probably not as easy to conceal.

Thanks for the input everyone.

I guess I'll get a Delta Point.

Both of my daily carry M&P's have RMR's as did my Glocks. If you plan on using your CORE as a range/match gun I think any red dot would serve the purpose. For a sight that you are using on a defensive/carry gun that you are betting your life on, the RMR would be the only choice. All the others just do not measure up for toughness/dependability.
The size difference is so small, between the different sights, the ability to carry concealed is not affected. I always carry IWB Appendix style. The butt of the pistol will be more of a worry to conceal than the RMR.
Here is a link to some pics I posted of an RMR'ed Glock and M&P:

Sorry. I tried posting them here but it did not work. I am not a computer guy, I usually can not get pictures to post any where. Since I got lucky on the other site I thought they would show up there for anyone to see.
