Truglo TFX

I've heard about people having problems with these but the TFO's I had on my Glock a few years ago had no issues.

Are they really having that many problems or is it just a few people here on the forum?

I can get a set for $107 but don't want to waist money. Are there any good stories?

The TFO and TFX are different designs. Supposedly the TFX are better.

The fiber optic of my TFOs has come loose and I need to replace them.

The TruGlo TFO's on my Shield still work great. I had the problem that TruGlo's are famous for, that being the front tritium fiber optic came loose. At first, I put a drop of clear fingernail polish on it. When it came loose the second time I sent the slide to TruGlo and they replaced the tfo for about $13 including return shipping as I recall. I didn't think it was a bad deal and this one is still holding up! Hope this helps!

I had TFO's on my old modified G23 that I sold over a year ago. I talked with the new owner and he said after thousands of rounds he has never had any trouble and they are still bright.

I ordered the TFX.

I've had to send my slide to TRUGLO to gave front sight replaced three times....yes three times. First two were with TFO sights. The last time was the new TFX sights they upgraded me too previously.
Took new TXF sights to range and after 75 rounds, was missing the new pressed in inserts that are supposed to retain tritium tube.

With that said, I have about 400 round on second front TFX sight, and it is working great.

I just bought some new TFX Pro sights but still in pkg.

I have a "regular" TFO set on a gun (45c) I'm selling to my brother. No issues with them so far but gun isn't fired everyday.

The new TFX do look slightly dimmer in the dark compared to the original series, but not overwhelmingly so as I just popped them out of the package and turned out the lights.

I have seeing people praising the Trij HD and Ameriglo.

What I do believe about the TG that gives it an advantage which I recently saw at the range using my TFO MP vs. a new MP with stock white 3 dots, is that LOOONNNNGGGG front sight housing which actually sets the front sight physically far enough back that all the gun shot residue doesn't black out the front sight. I shot just a few clips on the stock gun and the front sight was completely blacked out! My brother and I are usually at the outdoor range at dusk. I've been pleased with the TFO's to date.

I used to experience the same thing with TRIG because it's similar dimension to stock, so hence the GSR will "fog" it out somewhat. I believe the TFO front sight housing design makes all the difference even though some reviewers have been kind of cutting them up. I saw one review where the guy compared Ameriglo nites to the TFX and in the dark the Ameriglo looked a bit brighter.

Before I get the TFX mounted, any thoughts on MY thoughts? I don't think any of the other "higher end" sites will be immune to getting blacked out by GSR after a short time while shooting. Agree?

The old TFO were not chemical resistant and could be ruined with some cleaning solvents. I found this out the hard way my ruining 2 sets with Break Free Power Blast. It took awhile for the damage to show up is why I ruined 2 sets.

The new TFX are chemical resistant and have a white outlined front sight, I much prefer the new TFX over the older TFO. I have not had any problems with the inserts falling out on either.
