IWB Holster Review - Vector Holster Co
I was contacted via PM on this forum by Vector Holsters Co. and was asked if they were to send me one of their holsters free of charge would I in return write a review of it. I might also add, I do not know any of the people at Vector Holsters Co, nor had I ever heard of them until they contacted me for the review.
The holster sent to me is their .080” thick all kydex single clip IWB with adjustable tension holster.
The holster looks to be very well made and is very nice looking. The molding of the holster is very good and is formed to the pistol. When you insert the pistol it locks in very positively. The amount of retention is pretty much whatever you want, just tighten or loosen the retention screw until you're happy.
It has a very generous front sight channel that is big enough to accommodate most aftermarket pistol sights. It also has a full height sweat shield/guard.
The kydex has been cut flush with the bottom of the trigger guard so as not to inhibit obtaining a proper drawing grip and it retains its shape for easy one-handed re-holstering of your pistol.
All of the excess kydex has been removed so as to not add unnecessary bulk to the holster which makes it a very minimalist footprint. There are no sharp corners or edges, they have been rounded and polished so as not to gouge you.
For those who like an easily removable holster this one has an injection molded clip that clamps securely over my belt but yet is still easy to remove. I wear it at about the 3:30 - 4 o'clock position and am in and out of cars and office chairs quite a bit and never had the clip come loose from my belt.
For IWB holsters I have always carried a hybrid style holster but after wearing this one for over two weeks now, it is another viable carry option for me. Whether or not it will replace my hybrid holster, only time will tell.
All in All, I think it is a fine holster. It's well made, comfortable wearing and I think it's very competitively priced.
Vector Holsters Co. were/are selling them on ebay for $34.95, if interested search for “Vector Holsters Co.” on ebay or contact forum member sreinke via PM.
Here's a couple of pic's of it:
